FAQs
Q. What size tank do I need?
A. This depends on what the tank will be used for. For gardening we recommend a minimum of 2,000 litres. We also recommend that you put in the largest tank you can either fit or afford as the more water you can store, the better.
Q. How much water pressure do I get from the tank?
A. The water in the tank will be forced out by it's own weight but this will not be sufficient to run a hose as you would from a mains tap. To get the same type of pressure you would from the mains, you will require a pump.
Q. What do I need to sit my tank on?
A. For all tanks the best base is a bed of level reinforced concrete. The other option is reinforced concrete pavers.
Q. Does my tank need to sit on a stand?
A. No, all tanks can be placed directly onto the concrete. The AQUAPLATE® steel tanks have a base made of double sided AQUAPLATE® steel providing advanced resistance to corrosion.
Q. What does the tank come with?
A. The tank includes an inlet strainer at the top of the tank, an overflow connection and a threaded outlet at the base of the tank.
Q. Where are the fittings on my tank?
A. On our AQUAPLATE® steel tanks, a standard fitting configuration is offered.
Q. How do I work out how much water my roof will collect?
A. There is a simple formula for working this out. Basically, 1mm of rain on 1 square meter of roof equals 1 litre of water. e.g. If I have a roof of 40 square meters and we get a downfall of 12mm then: 40 x 12 = 480L of water will be collected.
